In GC, one can choose from many different inlet liners. There are, however, a few basic selection criteria that can help you to choose the best inlet liner for your application. Inlet liner selection depends first on injection technique and whether the sample is a liquid or a gas.

Additionally, some sample matrices and/or components show challenges to evaporate and transfer, which needs special attention for selecting the optimal inlet liner.
